Gmail has changed it’s display. Yes once again a company has changed the way it’s program looks. But here’s what you can do to make it ‘better’ if you don’t like it ….
Go to that cog in the top right. If you select ‘display density’ fro the drop down menu you can switch between ‘default’, ‘comfortable’ and ‘compact’. Comfortable and Compact are more like the ‘old’ gmail. Have a play and see what you find works best. I personally prefer Comfortable.
Whilst I’m talking about Gmail and it’s display … Do you have half your left hand side panel taken up with ‘chat’ or ‘hangouts’? There’s an easy way to switch that off too – and it’s a tweak which nearly everyone I meet wants!
Once again go to the cog, but this time select ‘Settings’. You’ll see a menu along the top. Select ‘Chat’, switch it off and save. Simple!
